Well, as long as NearBy explorer can find Dante's Inferno, then that's all the
GPS user needs, right?

All joking aside, yes, when I listened to the audio demonstration, I noticed
that 30 mile limitation, and I said to myself, "no, that's just an omission on
the demonstrator's part, that can't be!"

I was also troubled by the number of shops identified which in reality simply
didn't exist.

For purposes of full disclosure, I've not read the manual nor had time to
install the app for my own testing, so I'm only going by someone else's
information, though I know the perils of such knowledge acquisition.

Subject: Re: Help Needed Adding Favorites in Nearby Explorer for iOS

Thanks Richard. I tried searching for the city as you suggested but no luck. If
yiu can't search for locations further than 30 miles away, I consider that a
serious short coming of the app. I guess we're only supposed to use it on
nearby locations as the name implies.

        Hi Alan,
I have not bought the app yet, but in the manual it says, "Nearby
Explorer can search within approximately a 30-mile radius of your actual or
virtual position."

So it could be that it can't search farther away than that. Perhaps try
searching for the city, then set that as your virtual location, if that works,
then you could search for a place and add it as a favorite.
        Good luck.
        Richard

I apologize for posting this message here but I'm getting no
response on my posts to the Nearby Explorer for iOS email list.

As I understand Nearby Explorer, in order to simulate a
location in virtual mode, it has to be available in your app favorites or come
up as a location following a search. I'm trying to place a location in virtual
mode to which I'll be traveling later that is several hundred miles away from
my current location. The Nearby Explorer search results appear to be limited to
locations a maximum of 30 miles away. They also don't seem to interact with
locations already saved in one's contacts as searches using Blindsquare do.

Can someone please advise me how to access a location from
within Nearby Explorer that is located in a distant city so I can add it to my
NE favorites?

Thanks in advance for your help.
