Put the word "movies" in the search field in the App store, you will find
several listed that are totally free.

Hello. I just recently purchased the new Apple tv. I remember when
it first came out last year and was being discussed here, some one
said there was an app on it that was for older movies or tv shows that
were in the public domaine. Can any one tell me what the name of the
app is, or what I should search for? My interest is classic tv and
movies and I am very interested in something like this.
