This used to be the case, but with new Lithium Ion batteries keeping them connected will not harm them since they don’t get charged unless the voltage drops at which point a small charge is applied to top off the battery before the charger once again is turned off.

Hi, According to the Neato Robotics web site, if you're not going to be using the vacuum for an extended period, you should make sure the battery is fully charged, disconnect the battery and stor the vacuum in a cool dry place. Before using the vacuum after it's done hibernating, reconnect the battery and make sure it's fully charged before using it for the first time.
