Safari: Favorites vs Bookmarks

Hi! When exploring Safari I see Bookmarks and I see Favorites. In the Share menu I have options to add something as Bookmark and as Favorite. When I add something as Bookmark it appears as icon on the blank Pages screen. What is the difference in behavior and usage between Favorites and Bookmarks?
