Hi Richard,
They were able to reproduce the issue.
Their response below:
Hello again,
Since my last email I've had a couple more reports of this and have
also now been able to reproduce the issue.
We have filed a report on this with the appropriate group. We cannot
comment on when this will be resolved but thank you for taking the time
to report
it.
Apple Accessibility
In typical Apple fashion they don't give an ETA on when the bug will be
addressed, but on the positive side it's on the list to be looked at.

Did you double tap on the search button in the lower right corner

I've had no problems searching.

Hi list.
Others have mentioned these bugs so thought I'd provide an update
with my findings.
Just spoke with a senior adviser via the accessibility line who is
handling this case.
The email report I sent is as follows.
To whom it may concern:
I'd like to report the below bugs when browsing the respective app
or iTunes stores on iOS when utalising the VoiceOver screen reader.
Steps to reproduce.
1) Open the app store.
2) tap on the search tab.
3) tab on the search edit file located in the top left portion of the
screen.
4) Enter in a app name such as Facebook.
5) Swipe or run your finger around the screen.
Result: Notice that there is an area on the screen that VoiceOver
reports as search results and that it is not possible to obtain any
search results.
Expected Results: To be able to obtain search results while using
VoiceOver.
The other bug relates to dictation.
If I dictate an app or song into the search area that text isn't
retained.
The only workaround I've managed to figure out so far is to manually
type in the required search string.
I hope these issues will be addressed in a future update to iOS as
they are extremely frustrating.
The device I'm running the software on is an iPhone 7 128GB.
Version, 10.0.1 (14A403).

The rep told me to set up the phone as new and see if the problem
persists.
To those of you experiencing this have you tried with a fresh device?
Frankly not sure if it'll help but worth giving it a go I guess.
I did send them feedback early during the public beta phase quite
disheartening to see these bugs have made it into the stable build.
Here's hoping that it's addressed in the next patch update.
Any thoughts you may have would be appreciated.
