Wow, thanks for pointing this out, Kliphton. Before there was no way to
let text messages through, only phone calls, and I missed many a text
from my wife in DND mode. This is much better to have more fine-grained
control over what gets through. Again, thank you for kindly sharing.

or hidden, instead of buying a book, or asking someone else to figure
it out for me. So, if you are editing a contact, and you do either
the ring tone, or the text tone, there is a dialog that pops up when
you go to select the sound, that says “emergency by pass” If you
check it, then when do not disturb is on, there calls or text will
come threw.
