Thanks Sieghard. I also gave Apple this feedback through their Telephone
Accessibility Agent today.

It sounded like they had heard the story before! The feedback was well
received!

Thanks All!

Subject: RE: Anoying announcement

Hi Kliphton,

Unless you have an iPhone 7 or 7 Plus and this is different than on the 6S/6S
Plus or 6/6 Plus what yu say is not correct. I have hints disabled and the
"Actions Available" message is still spoken whenever you change focus to a
different app on the home screen. I guess Apple wants to make sure users
realize that there is now the new "Arrange Apps" rotor function, who knows if
down the road other rotor options could be added.

It is just one of these things one gets used to just like when Apple introduced
the "Dock" announcement whenever you touch one of the apps in the dock for the
first time. If you touch one and it is announced as "Dock, Phone" and then if
you touch any other dock app the "Dock" announcement is no longer spoken, but
it is the first time. I do think that the "Actions available" announcement
could be restricted to when Hints are enabled and I have sent Apple
Accessibility feedback accordingly a while back. I guess anybody who feels the
same way should write to [email protected]
<mailto:[email protected]> and request this because if nobody does it
will not be changed.

Regards,

Sieghard

Go to settings, general, accessibility, turn off hints and that announcement
will go away.

Does anyone know if its possible to turn off the “Actions Available”
announcement after any icon is tapped using VoiceOver?
