I set up my Dot successfully using the Iphone app. I thought it was
going to be problematic because when I got to the language picker, it
kept closing the app when I would try to pick. And it didn't show a
default language. I rebooted my phone becaue I've noticed that this is
sometimes necessary in iOS10. It was a little sluggish during the
install, but everything worked exactly as it should and I got it up
and running. So I'd recommend rebooting the phone if it's problematic.
