Microsoft and I have been at odds because they send me a code to change
password and by the time I read it, try to get back to where it is needed, mix
up or forget it go back again, it expires! For my part, if I can get away
without it I will but then, my phone is usually nearby, in my purse or pocket,
on my desk or nightstand and I live alone. I am very protective of it, I don't
key the 6-digit or even the 4-digit code in place because it is annoying to
have to keep putting it in every time I need to use the phone or applications
on the phone.

As I said it hardly leaves my side unless I am home alone doors locked, and
know no one else is here. Only thing is, often take it out of a pocket while
in the bathroom so it does not fall where it should not be, leave it on the
vanity then have to call it or have someone call it so I can find it, usually
same place every time so now I look there first!
I don't recommend this for everyone, in fact I don't recommend it for most
people!

Hi Mary

Especially for Microsoft and Windows users besides their apple devices, be
aware that programs like windows live mail do apparently not give access
anymore to icloud mail accounts while they require 2steps verificcation and
this is the case with my wlm.

Regards
Davy

Subject: Two factor authentication issues?

When I updated my iPad mini two recently, I went ahead and enabled two
factor authentication. Subsequently, Apple sent me a notification that
included a link, which, if I activated, will let me undo the changes I made.
This link will go away as of sometime next week. Therefore, I am interested
in the details of the problems that arise with two factor authentication. I
gave them my mobile phone number where they could send the six digit code
that will be needed when and if I get a new Apple device where I log in with
my Apple ID. I certainly don't want some unsolvable problem happening down
the road. So what are the issues? Is it something that happens when you're
trying to enable two factor authentication? In that case, mine is already
done, so no problem. If it is a problem that happens when you're actually
trying to start using a new device, that's another matter, and would make me
consider revoking my two factor authentication.
Mary
