It has the same footprint, but it's just a bit taller. The connections on it are almost the same except that it does not have the optical audio out, the only output it has is HDMI. If your TV doesn't have an HDMI input you have to somehow get a converter, I believe it was either on Applevis or Cool Blind Tech where somebody did a Podcast about using some sort of HDMI to analogue audio converter, but that is probably another $30 to $50 item. It also has the same power cable as the old one, an ethernet port if you want to plug it in to your router instead of connecting it to your WiFi and it has I think a Micro USB port but that has no practical, every day purpose and I think is primarily for diagnostics and the third gen Apple TV also had it.

I believe I will go with a 32 gig model. I really appreciate everybody's help and advice, when it came to this decision. I'm still nervous about it. But I think once I start messing around with it, I'll be fine. But I was wondering, is this Apple tv bigger than the 3rd generation model? I thought it had different connections on it, and such? So I just figured it was larger, or something. Well I will keep you all posted on my transition. This should be interesting.
