I have a question about Echo Link and ham radio. I would like to look into this and perhaps be available in emergencies. How do I find a course to get me ready for testing, and does Echo Link take the place of an actual radio? Has the technology made it any easier since the 60s when a huge antenae" was needed? I had a good friend killed putting up one of those. He got his feet in snow. You can guess the result. Just asking anyone with experience in ham to point me in the right direction to get started or not if too complicated. LOL. Write off list as this is mostly off topic please. Address is [email protected] Thanks again. Just exploring and toying with possibilities.
