In iOS 8, which was when I quit using Voice memos, while you could record as long of memos as you had the memory to, you could only share memos by text that were like 10 minutes in length. I used to record longer voice messages to friends, and send them along, but ditched that idea with the restriction. I then switched to DropVox and now am starting to use audio memos.
