Hi Harry and all, I can't find any way to make the screen scrol while Speak Screen is active in Kindle books if the screen is locked. This is too bad because it used to be a nice way to read Kindle books.
The screen will scroll while reading iBooks with Speak Screen and the screen locked. However, When I tried it, VoiceOver would come on and say something when the page scrolled. So I guess I would have to mute speech when using this feature. I also noticed that when using Speak screen, there are no playback controls on the lock screen, as I'm pretty sure there used to be. The Magic Tap works, so at least it's easy to stop the speaking. At one point, though, I got into a situation where doing the magic tap would alternate between reading my book and playing my previous podcast. The only way I could stop this was to ask Siri to stop speaking the screen. In short, Speak Screen doesn't seem to be as useful as it was in the past. If anyone is finding it useful, please let us know how you're using it.
