Hi Gerardo,

I can only add my voice to that of the others, I don't think you have anything
to worry about, there are no wide-spread reports of battery drainage with iOS
10, it seems with any new version somebody always reports either better or much
worse battery life which can have many reasons. Just update and enjoy the nice
new feature of easily moving apps with Voiceover, that feature alone is worth
the update. I recommend you take a few basic precautions and everything should
be just fine. If you can do an encrypted backup with iTunes and update via
iTunes I think that might be slightly better and safer than updating over the
air. But if you can't just do an iCloud backup, make sure all your apps are
updated, then force quit/remove all apps from the app switcher and at a minimum
turn your phone off and on again, if you are comfortable doing a Reset Network
Settings that is a good idea, it may not do anything but it also won't hurt and
it could avoid problems in some situations. Just go to Settings > General and
at the very bottom tap on Reset, then select to Reset Network Settings. This
will also reboot your phone, once you are logged in again you will have to
reconnect to your Wi-Fi and in Settings > General > About you have to rename
your iPhone as a reset network settings puts it to just "iPhone" so if you want
"Gerardo's iPhone 5S" or something like that you have to rename it. When you
have typed what you want double tap on "Done" at the bottom right of the
keyboard, then go ahead and do the update. I would suggest you plug the iPhone
in for the update even if it has an almost full battery.

Regards,
Sieghard

Subject: Seaking advice on 5S with iOS10.1?

Very good Friday morning! What advice would you guys give on taking the plunge
and updating an iPhone 5S from iOS9.3.5 to iOS10's latest which I think is
10.1? A few days ago I saw on here a thread about 10.1's battery drainage with
VO, which kind of concerns me a bit overall. Apart from the battery drainage
bug just-mentioned, what other bugs or advantages have you'll found in iOS10.1
as to warrant updating, or waiting to iOs10.2 which will hopefully resolve the
battery draining issue I read about on here? Thanks for advice be good or bad.
