That means you held your finger on the letter too long and the alternate characters are then available. It is designed for when you want to insert a letter with an accent, for example, adding the accented e to fiancée. HTH, Richard .

Everything generally goes well with Siri dictation and using Fleksy for emails, etc. However, when typing on the native keyboard, I will start to type and there will be a blip and it says “other characters” or similar. I usually have my finger on the keyboard letter when it does this, and when I lift my finger it will speak the previous letter a second time and place it in whatever I am writing. I then have to delete that letter and start forward again only to have it happen in another couple of words. Is there a setting I can turn off? I have autocorrection on. Could this be the problem? So annoying that I will turn it off if need be. Thanks in advance. Reggie -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the "VIPhone" Google Group.
