Hi Fred, I'll paste in the information from my comment to the AppleVis guide On "Easy access to the iOS manual": http://www.applevis.com/guides/easy-access-ios-manual#comment-1677 There are two ways you can access these guides and read them on your iOS device: one is to use the HTML version of the guide for the iPod, iPhone, or iPad and iOS operating system. The second is to search iBooks for a version of same user guides to read in ePub versions in iBooks. Of the two, the HTML version is likely to always be the most up to date. You can also always create an icon for the HTML version of the user guide on your iOS device home screen by double-tapping the "Utilities" button in Safari (above the home button) and then double tapping "Add to Home Screen". I use to navigate to the section on VoiceOver or Accessibility and create a home screen icon that would open to that section when I got my first iOS device.
Here's the information on how to find URLs for the most current (iOS 5) user guide manuals. I suspect that for iOS 6, you'll simply use a "6" in place of the "5" following the device name of iPhone, iPad, or iPodTouch. For the user guide in other languages, change the two letter code of "en" at the end to one appropriate for the language you want. <begin quote> #3 Links to HTML versions of iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad manuals Submitted by Esther on 31 December 2011. This is an updated listing of the current HTML version of the accessible HTML user guides for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPhone under iOS 5. * iPhone User Guide: http://help.apple.com/iphone/5/voiceover/en/ • iPod Touch User Guide: http://help.apple.com/ipodtouch/5/voiceover/en/ • iPad User Guide: http://help.apple.com/ipad/5/voiceover/en/ For versions in other languages, change the two character code at the end from "en" for English to the appropriate combination, for example: "fr" for French "es" for Spanish "it" for Italian "de" for German "nl" for Dutch "ru" for Russian "ja" for Japanese "da" for Danish "fi" for Finnish "pt" for Portuguese "sv" for Swedish "nb" for Norwegian "ar" for Arabic "ko" for Korean "ro" for Romanian "sk" for Slovak "hr" for Croatian "sq" for Albanian "bg" for Bulgarian "cs" for Czech "et" for Estonian "he" for Hebrew "hu" for Hungarian "id" for Indonesian "lt" for Lithuanian "lv" for Latvian "ms" for Malay "pl" for Polish "tr" for Turkish "vi" for Vietnamese However, for Chinese you need to distinguish between traditional and simplified characters, so the "zh" code is qualified as "zh_CN" for simplified and "zh_TW" for traditional, as in: http://help.apple.com/iphone/5/voiceover/zh_CN/ and http://help.apple.com/iphone/5/voiceover/zh_TW/ There are probably other working language codes. <end quote> HTH.
