Hi Bill,

I find that if I send a message to multiple recipients and later on type part
of the name of one of them I do have both entries in my list of matches, just
the person and the group and if I select just the person it goes to him o her
alone and not the group.

Regards,
Sieghard

Subject: Re: How to text to two or more folks

I’d like to chime in on this thread with a couple of caveats concerning sending
an iMessage to multiple addressees:

First, when adding several recipients to the “To” field, if any one of those
addressees do not have an iPhone associated with the resolved telephone number
the message will be delivered as an MMS message to all recipients. If it’s
important to you that those recipients who have iPhones receive an iMessage be
sure to include only those recipients in a “dedicated iMessage” to multiple
recipients; then sending the same message to those who do not have iPhones.

Secondly, after successfully sending a message (or iMessage) to multiple
recipients you will discover that any time you want to send a text to any one
of those recipients you will end up sending this new message to the entire
list. To eliminate this problem, you need to open the “More” menu item where
you can remove the addressees from this lingering multiple addressees list.
