Hi Rich,
Well, the process is pretty slow, so bear with me. I have written out 13
steps, though I could have broken it into more.
1. Open the Email whose contents you want to send as a text message.
2. Find the first word where you want to start your selection and press the
cursor routing button above it.
3. Use the rotor commands, cord-dots2,3 or 5,6 and turn the rotor to text
selection.
4. Use cord-dot6 to move to where the display says line selection or word
selection, depending on how you wish to do this.
5. Now use cord-dot6 to move ahead by either word or line. Each press of
cord-dot6 will select the next amount of text.
6. When you have all the text selected you want, use the rotor
command cord-dots5,6 to move to edit. Then cord-dot6 to move to copy and press
cord-dots3,6.
7. Close the Email however you want, I often just use cord-h to go to the home
screen.
8. Now open the message app.
9. Find compose and press cord-dots3,6 to start a new text message.
10. Now, you should be in the "to" field, though there is no indication on the
braille display other than the blinking cursor if your display is set to blink.
Enter the phone number you are texting to. I am using UEB so I have to use
the number sign.
11. You cannot advance beyond this point with cord-dot6, you have
to tab with cord-dots4,5. Then you can use cord-dot6 to get to the place where
the braille display shows "message text field"
12. Use cord-dots5,6 to turn the rotor to edit and use cord-dot6 to move to
paste and press cord-dots3,6 to paste the text.
13. Press cord-dot6 to get on the send button and press
cord-dots 3,6 and it should send.
I hope that helps,
Richard

richard and sieghard,
both of you could be correct for whatever you go through experience.
richard, I let you know that sometimes some commands of rotor bars don’t always
appear as some could be possible bugs. some of us do have what you have and
some of us do have with sieghard has. todd doesn’t have what you have or
doesn’t have what sieghard has. some iphones don’t always work right. like
human beings nothing is perfect. and eveyrone always expect comuter being
perfect. sheesh1
richard, when I tried to make copy form email to transfer to text message,
apple staff give step-by-step, and I did everything, but they are missing as
they don’t use brialle display and thye n’t try to lok over and find out as the
would realize that they are missing.
sometimes it works fine for me and sometimes they don’t work on others.
sometimes omething works on others whiel someonthing doesn’t work on me. we
have sifferent settings. just like fingerprints as we are not the same. wink1
sincerely,
rich

You may want to read step 3 again.
I said to use cord-dot6 again to move to where it shows "activate default"
which is what the Apple label says.
Like I said, I turned speech off and was going by only what the braille display
showed.

Hi Richard,
I think the "Activate" option which in fact should be "Delete" is not the
default. If it were and you were to double tap immediately after double tapping
on Arrange Apps without flicking up or down then the response should be the
prompt to delete the app, but the response is to Move he app so the default is
Move and not Activate/Delete and that is my story and I'm sticking to it *smile*

Todd and all,
I have my Braille Edge connected to my iPhone. The commands are the same for
all HIMS braille displays, so it is the same as your Braille Sense Mini.
I turned off speech so I am only going by what the display says.
The steps are:
1. Use cord-dot4 or dot 1 to get to the app you want to delete.
2. Press cord-dot6. When it shows "arrange apps" press cord-dots 3,6.
3. Press cord-dot6 again so it shows "activate default." Press cord-dots3,6.
4. It will say "delete app" at that point, hit cord-dot6 until you get to the
delete button and press cord-dots3,6.
Now, this is where Apple should make two changes.
When you are "arranging apps" and it shows "activate default" that should show
"delete default" since that is now the default action.
Also, to get out of edit mode, you have to press the physical home button on
the phone. If you press cord-h it will exit terminal mode and your display
won't be connected to your braille display.
I hope this is helpful.
Richard

to all,
the quote is blindness separates us form things and deafness separates us form
people.
blind gain wonderful things to have communication than deaf do. deaf is more
disabled than blind due to communication issues. sometimes apple staff don't
realize this. there are some issues apple staff don't guarantee by not dealing
with braille display users. they think what they belive, but they don't
realize. there are some issues that brialle users have.
todd, go to settings, then go to genreal, then go to storage and then there is
something that yo can look and enter app, then go down and find the word
"delete" and then it asks yo if yo are sure and you say yes and then app is
gone.
ssincerely,
rich

Dani,
Actually, there is really no way to do that!
Apple Inc. lacks this in a large way!
How can person who is profoundly deaf and totally blind see what the screen is
showing or see where to find on the screen!
Think about it.

Todd,
You have a Braille display from Hims--I see your mail on theHims Notetaker
list. I have a BrailleEdge. The process for deleting apps should be similar
You can't do it just using the keyboard on the Braille display. You've got to
use a combination of the keyboard and VO gestures. But there should be Braille
feedback of everything VO says.
1) Navigate to the app you want to delete using the Dot1/4 with spacebar.
When you get to the app
2) One-finger double-tap and hold on the app. VO should say, and Braille should
show"Moving [app name]."
3) Lift your finger and double-tap. You'll get a message asking whether you
want to delete the app. Navigate to the Delete button and double-tap it.
(You can use your finger or the cursor routing button
here.)
4) Hit your Home button to get out of app editing mode.

Dani

At this time, I know there is no way for a strong Braille user to
delete apps from his iOS. No problem for hearing-blind who are speech

That
is not fair.
We Braille users have every right just as the blind do.
Who may be able to tell me how to kill (delete) any unwanted apps?
A Braille Sense U2 Mini is what I have here, so make sure you have the
right commands for that task.
Thank you.
