Hi Bill,

I got the device and it works really well. Just put the probe in the center of
the meat and its perfect cooking. The device is called iGrill. There are 2
models. The iGrill which has 2 probes but is more expensive at 99 dollars US
and you can get the iGrill mini which is the one I have with 1 probe for 40
dollars US.

I purchased mine from a site for the blind. Its AT Guys and the web site is
ATGuys.com. They have text manuals on their site for things they sell. The
app you need to make it work is called Weber. You can use it in a barbecue up
to 150 feet away or simply in your oven or indoor grill. It has many pre-sets
and you can make your own. For instance, in the US they recommend poultry to
be cooked at 165 degrees but in Canada doctors say we should cook it to 180
degrees so I created my own pre-set and called it Ron's poultry and made it to
180 degrees. You can also have it warn you with an alarm when your food is 10
degrees from being done.

Worth every cent I spent on it.

Subject: Inquiring About Temperature Probes for Cooking ...

About 18 months ago there was discussion on this list about temperature probes
that functioned with an iDevice so someone that is blind would be able to
monitor the internal temps of various items cooking in the oven, grill or
roaster. Could somebody please refresh my memory as to the brand(s) of such
probes and accompanying iOS apps?

Thanks!
