Hi Evan,

Remember this is a one-time purchase, you are not going to have to pay for
updates and so on. I don't agree with Shaf's opinion that it's "definitely not
worth the price". I don't need to use it that much because I usually have
sighted staff around who can read things to me, but every single time I do use
it to quickly read something or even just identify a piece of paper it is worth
it to me. I know you said you have a desktop scanning solution, but I think you
will find that very often it is faster and just as accurate to use KNFB Reader
to read a piece of mail than it is to put it on the scanner, fire up your
Kurzweil 1000 and read it that way. OK, maybe I should add here that you need a
bit of practice with respect to holding your I Phone at the correct distance
and to hold it still. I can take free-hand scans very quickly and reliably
whereas a few others on the list have a lot of trouble with that. If you look
for some 20% discounted gift cards and then are able to pick it up on sale for
something like what it was now which I think was $65 in the States you can
potentially get this app for as little as $52. Considering what Kurzweil 1000
or Openbook costs this is a joke and well worth every penny.

Regards,
Sieghard

It's not really very reliable but it will work to some extent.

Computer screens, really? Does that mean when my laptop is not talking I could
use KNFB Reader to read the screen? If so, that is a major point in its favor.
Evan

You can't use it while shopping. I use it for menus, books, bus stop signs,
computer screens when troubleshooting and..any other printed materials I may
need to read while out and about. It's definitely not worth the price, but if
you have the money to spend it's a great tool to have and the most accurate and
accessible OCR app for iOS.
