I tried iDentifi on a letter from British Columbia Medical Services. I had
earlier read the same letter with KNFB Reader with almost perfect accuracy.
iDentifi was also very good, maybe not quite as good as KNFB Reader and it took
longer for the text to be recognized, but for a free app this is very nice. The
drawback of course is that there is no easy way to save the recognized text,
using the 3-finger quadruple tap to copy what Voiceover spoke to the clipboard
is OK for short passages, but this features has its limitations. I guess we'll
see if he will add a way to save the text down the road. As somebody who also
has KNFB Reader I doubt I will use iDentifi for doing OCR, but for people who
don't have KNFB Reader and don't want to spend the money it is great.

Regards,
Sieghard

Subject: iDentifi and text

If you want to save the description or text results with iDentifi, after it
reads the description/text, do the three finger quadruple tap and you can then
paste that in a word processing app or an eMail. I just used iDentifi on the
back of a book in a dark room, and got amazingly good results. The same
situation with KNFB reader got maybe 5% of the words.
Flash is set to automatic.
By the way, after hitting the first take picture button, you can use the volume
control to take the picture, and for me, the use photo button gains focus
automatically.

Here is what I got from the back of the book.
