Is this the password that is part of the initial set up? When I set up my iPhone 7, there was a point in the set up where I had to get my sighted husband to enter the password because, for some weird reason, VO was not reading the screen.
Sorry I don't have a solution, only a me too. But this is something we should definitely be telling Apple tech support.
