Apple W1 Bluetooth headsets (AirPods, PowerBeats3) do *NOT* have multi-point. Multi-point is the technology in LG Platinum, Jaybird's and others that allows pairing and switching between multiple devices (Mac/iPhone). The user scenario is having a multi-point Bluetooth LE headset paired to Mac with VoiceOver, get a phone call, answer it via headset, continue working on Mac after, or close Mac, resume with iPhone VoiceOver, and no need to re-connect. While the Beats3 (e.g. Solo and Power) do have the in-line mic/remote, I'd not recommend them due to the huge discomfort and low audio quality. I tried Beats several years ago, hoped they would have improved after being acquired by Apple, but they're nothing more than for "looks". I was not impressed that the W1 is only optimized for iOS 10, not Sierra, or TV/WatchOS. e.g. the iOSiPhonerange, quality, and auto-connect works only for 10 devices (e.g. /iPad/iPod Touch). However, if you're using a Mac with AirPods or Beats with W1, it's required to manually connect them each time. This is a regression compared to the Bluetooth headsets that support multi-point, not to mention the multi-point ones have better comfort and sound quality than the W1's. I'm very much looking forward to whatever Bluetooth 5 has to offer.
