Hi, The only difference between the iPad Pro and the iPad mini is its size. If you don't want something too big, I would go with the iPad Pro 9.7 inch. There are two sizes of the pro. There is the one I just mentioned and then the 12.9 inch. As far as doing things on a windows PC, you can do most anything like email, search web, listen to all kinds of music and the like. You will have to use iTunes if you want to copy music to your iPad though. Otherwise, it is a great device.
