You need to go into the Settings app. Next, go into the display and brightness settings. Once there, flick right to the "autolock" option. I have it set to never so that I don't experience unexpected shut-downs. However, if you want to have it shut down after a time automatically, there are time options when you double-tap that autolock setting. Choose the one you want and then hit the "back" button.
