Hi Rebecca. This is a bug. Not a major one, but a bug nonetheless. You have 2 options that I can think of. The first is to go to the braille settings under VO and choose to always show the on-screen keyboard. This will get in your way when using the braille display, but you can press space with 1-4-6 to hide it temperarily. If you wish to not have the on-screen keyboard visible and in your way, restartingthe phone and not connecting your RB should also work restore the on-screen keyboard. I don't understand why they had you do the restore, but this is what has worked for me in the past.
