I meant to say you have to turn on Home sharing in iTunes in order to control its music playback with the Remote app. Sorry for the error.
Alan Lemly Larry, That's great that Sieghard and you worked out the issue. I meant to post a few months ago when you first mentioned having difficulties playing music in iTunes to ask if you've ever considered using the Remote app to control iTunes music playback. You have to turn family sharing on but it works pretty well if you have iTunes up and running on the computer and want to control playback with your iDevice. Sieghard and I got it to work. The key is enabling the column brouser and perhaps setting the tree view to songs. Also, you have to do a jaws screen refresh with jaws key plus escape to bring the information to the genra, artist and album lists.
