Hello there,

Ah, yes that is a tricky gesture to pull off. With practice and patience one
should be able to do this.

This only works with the 6s and the 7 models. The trick is the timing. Go to
the left side of the screen. Now this is where lots of practice comes in. Push
slightly down to get the haptic and then swipe to the right. If you wait too
long after the haptic it will not work. So when I say right after the haptic I
do mean immediately after that swipe to the right. This will open the
AppSwitcher. Although, as we all would know that doing a double click on the
Home is so much easier. I suppose if you have problem with the Home button this
will certainly work to get around that problem.

Regards,

Thomas

Hi!

This gesture with four finger sviping is something like Alttabbing in Windows
but there's also another thing closer to the subject.

>From time to time when I accidentally rest the finger on the left edge of the
>screen and probably push it a bit harder the App Switcher opens. I guess this
>has something to do with 3D Touch since I'm using 6S Plus and I can remember
>blury I've read something about this feature some time ago.

The issue is I can't reproduce this on purpose, it just happens accidentally.

Hello All,

Yes, when the iOS 10 was dropped. One of those new feature was called the Slide
Over. Originally, it was thought to only work for the iPad family but that is
not the case. It does work on the smaller family. Least when I had done my
testing with the iPhone 6s and the 7 models. All one have to do is open an app.
Now open another app. Do a four fingers swipe from the left side of the screen
to the right. This will now let you Slide Over to the previous app that was
open. Touch any where on that screen for that app. Now you can Slide Over back
in doing a four fingers swipe from the right to the left.

Hope that is what you were speaking about. ;)

Ok so how do these gestures for interacting with this mew feature work with
Voiceover, if VO already has a way to do this?

I did a Google search for "Side App Switcher" and found the following on an
Apple support page:

Use Slide Over

Slide Over lets you interact with a second app without leaving the app you’re
currently using. You can quickly check your text messages, respond to emails,
or create a note. Just swipe to the left from the middle-right edge of the
screen to see your previously used app.

To switch the side app that you’re using, swipe down from the top-right side of
the screen. You’ll see a list of your apps. Tap one to use it. When you’re
done, slide from left to right on the app to return to the previous app.

You can use Slide Over with iPad Pro, iPad Air and later, and iPad mini 2 and
later.

Hey all,

Since the last OS update every now and then I hear Side App switcher after
launching some apps, but have no clue what this means. Anyone else getting this
and know what it is referring to? Thanks,
