Not sure Andrew, it usually works for me. Once I lift up my phone off the paper it is on and which covers the camera I lift it straight up about a foot or so and Voiceover then says “Text detected, hold still” and then the picture is taken.

Yes, I did have my finger on the lense cover, that is how I found out that it announced. That didn’t happen before but, I like it. Now, as far as the Profile with the automatic picture taking, I tried that but, I couldn’t seem to get the camera to auto take a picture. Is there something I could be doing incorrectly? I always put my iPhone down on the page I want to scan and start KNFB Reader, then it will say “Lens covered” because it is covered. Maybe yours was too, maybe you had your finger over it accidently? I don’t know how that happened but, now, after rebooting the App, it stopped.
