If you plan to scan books, having the Book Reading Aid plus the stand is very helpful. If you do not plan to do much with scanning books, but just individual documents, you only need the Fopydo Scanning Stand.
The NFB Store sells the Fopydo Stand by itself for $12.00 with free shipping. They do not carry the book reading aid, so if you want both, it is best to go through either Amazon or the fopydo.com web site.
