A three-finger swipe to the left will move you forward. Also, don't forget that you can get to the table of contents by double tapping the screen, finding and double-tapping the menu button, and flicking right past the menu items. Be certain that you're in the main menu by checking for the "library function at the far left of the menu. If that's present, you're in the proper menu and can flick right to get to the table of contents. Happy reading.
