It may be a reason not to buy a series 2 watch if you already own a series 1,
but if you don't yet own an Apple Watch at all to me it is a no-brainer to buy
the series 2, it's a bit more than the series 1, but it also may be more future
proof.
I also bought my first Apple Watch last October and bought the series 2
stainless steel because the fact that it is waterproof for me is a big deal as
I live a pretty active lifestyle and don't want to worry about where I should
put my watch if I want to go play in the river with my dog or get it wet
watering the flowers. That was also the reason why I bought the stainless steel
model which has a sapphire crystal instead of gorilla glass. Sapphire is more
scratch resistant and tougher and I'm not always known to be super careful when
it comes to bumping my arm into things when I'm in my woodworking shop or doing
outdoor activities.

Sieghard

I agree. I have a series 1, and it's working fine for me. I don't need the
fancier options.

Hi,

I have a series 1 and my wife has a series 2. While the series 2 is slightly
quicker when launching apps, I don't believe it is worth the extra expense. The
series 2 is waterproof so you can take it swimming, which you can't do with the
series 1 watch. If you need this feature, that would be the only reason I could
justify the cost of a brand new watch.

Just my opinion and I hope it helps in your decision.

Cheers,
Brett.

Cheers Brett.
