The first thing to do is double-tap the delete button before you select any books. This will make it possible to delete books. Be certain you have the device button selected so you don't remove something from the cloud. Once the delete button has been invoked, there will be a delete button beside each book right after the menu button that's always there. Double-tap on that delete button to get rid of books you don't want. When you're done, go back up to the top and double-tap the delete button right before the refresh button.
