Hi how do you get started with iCloud drive? And where do you go to sign up so you can get the five gigs of storage?

Hi Terri. You get an initial 5 gb of iCloud storage space free of charge and iCloud drive can make use of that. You can also pay for additional storage. I pay for 200 GB of storage and use iCloud drive to have large files like audio dramas in zipped mp3 files available. I can then download them to my iPHONE when I want them. Apps such as Ulysses also make use of iCloud drive to store files. You can use the iCloud Drive app to browse files and folders present in your iCloud drive. I think you should set it up since you can do so at no cost. For casual users, the 5 GB of iCloud storage is plenty of space. Hope that helps.
