Hi Terri, I know that the app named Google Duo can be used to give FaceTime like video calls and/or HD audio calls between the different types of phones.
I also believe Google plus can provide a "find my friends" type of feature between the different types of phones; Google seems to be working to provide utilities for both platforms which do exactly what you were asking about.
