Hi, When I sign in to my email account, I just select the outlook button and then I give it some time to load the messages. If you use the acctions road there is an opsion to select delete and double taping should delete the message. I did have one problem ware outlook kep crashing after a few seconds of opening for some reason and I am not sure what is going on there, but that is my experience with it as of this morning. BTW, the app is up to date.
