Android phones can be different because different manufacturers and
carriers can make changes to support different devices, such as physical
keyboards, SD card readers, different physical buttons and so on. These
phones can all be running the same version of Android, just as different
desktops, laptops and tablets can all be running the same version of
Windows but have different form factors.

Hi
The reasons Android phones can be different is because they are running
different versions of Android. The same is true for iphones using different
releases of IOS. There are a lot of differences how things are done between
IOS 7 and IOS 10.

And as someone already stated, all Androids are different, all iPhones are all
the same, so each time you switch from one Android device to another, you have
to learn how that particular device works, you don't have that problem with
iDevices.

I have used both and prefer IOS to android. Yes, they are more expensive, but
so much easier to use. I loathe Talk Back, it is more frustrating for me. I
tried using an Android tablet and an Android phone and hated both of them. It
is IOS all the way for me.

IOS is definitely more accessible than Android, from wha I have read.

I like the blindness apps that are available for IOS. BeSpecular and Be My
Eyes are a couple examples. Money Reader is another example. It is really
easy to use a Braille display with IOS.
Just go into VoiceOver Settings, Braille then pair it. One thing that really
annoys me about Android is that from what I understand, each phone is laid out
differently because each manufacturer puts its junk on. An iPhone is an
iPhone. Once you learn one, you can use any iPhone that you have your hands on.
Usually, when I get a new iPhone, I am able to get it set up within an hour or
less then go on about my business. What really annoys me about Android is that
not every phone gets updates.
That means that if I am one of the unlucky people who has a phone that won't
get Android O, I just have to read on mailing lists about the kool features
while I'm stuck on the earlier version.

Hey guys. So, yeah yeah flack time…. I currently have a blackberry PRIV
running android 6.0.1, love the phone yes! But here is my question. I just got
myself a brand new shiny fast sleek MBP and the question of android or IOS is
popping into my head. I have a good while before I can afford to afford to get
a new device, but I want some input here. Other than the continuity features,
please tell me what is so great about IOS today. Please don’t tell me that its
got the best accessibility, because that is a fallacy since google is equal,
but features, useful new tools, etc just something that would actually sway me
more to looking seriously at IOS again.
thanks
Doug.
