I noticed that issue as well recently. I don't have a solution other
than what you mentioned. I would also suggest those affected use the
Feedback item recently described on list to send feedback to the
YouTube developers. Since they release updates extremely often,
hopefully a fix will be coming soon. It is a huge pain to have to
close and reopen the app to go to the next video.
