I also heard a piece on PRI's (public radio international) Marketplace about this issue. In the rush to unseat Googlemaps, Apple has offered us a maps app that doesn't have bus, subway, or other public transit information, a major component of Googlemaps.
I wonder if it has pedestrian mode?
