I noticed in one of the tutorial he said that it could read Currensy. Do you
know if that a special channel that is offered on the seven? It doesn't appear
to be available on the 6S.

First, for those who missed the details from the app description, this is a
research project. I, like others, no doubt hope it continues to develop and
improve. Though, in my opinion, for a first release, this is extremely
impressive.

It has different features available depending on the iOS device being used.

I have the iPhone 5s and the 6s.

The 5s has the following features, or as they call them, channels, available:
Short Text
Document
Person
Scene Beta.
If you double tap on the menu button in the upper right, you also have Face
Recognition.

The 6s has:
Short Text
Document
Product
Person
Scene Beta.
If you double tap on the menu button, you also have Face Recognition.

I have tested out all the channels.
Short Text, works amazingly well. I wasn't hearing anything out of my computer
when I turned it on, so I pointed the camera at the computer screen and almost
immediately found out that Windows 10 was dealing with updates.
Once Jaws finally kicked in and was saying the same thing, Seeing AI kept up
with the changes darn near as quickly as Jaws did.

Document, I have only done a few with it, but it is almost as good as KNFB
reader for accuracy, plus it guides you as you position the phone and will tell
you to hold steady when it has the whole page in view and will automatically
take the picture. The biggest advantage of this app though is that it
maintains the formatting! It will tell you there is a heading and it will
separate paragraphs, so you can flick through sections of text with VoiceOver.
Plus you can share the result. You cannot at this point add a second page, but
this is worth a lot to me.

Product, as others have noted, it is very fast and you have to hold it a ways
away from the object depending on how big the object is. A small can, you can
be closer than with a large box. Once it sees a bar code, it will start
beeping and the beeps get faster and then you want to hold steady and it will
tell you the result. Far faster than any other bar code app I have used.

Person, this will simply tell you if there are faces in the camera view, then
if you take a picture, it will guess at the gender and age of the person. My
wife it said was 41 the first time and she is 62. But, people have always said
she looks much younger than she is. They probably didn't mean that young
though, grin.

Scene Beta, as it says, it is in beta. It tries to describe the scene when you
take a picture. Not too bad, but it is a beta.

Face Recognition, When you select that, it will ask you to take three pictures
of someone, or have them take three pictures of themselves, then an edit box
will appear and you can write in their name.
When you point the camera at them later, it will say who they are. This works
very quickly once you get a label entered.

I have an iPod Touch 6th Generation that is running the iOS beta, so I'm not
sure it isn't an iOS issue, but it just kicks me out of the app when I try to
use it on the Touch.

At this point, I'd give it a solid 4 stars.

Just my two cents worth.

Richard
