Are you trying to use the face recognition? I was able to do it and yes, sometimes it went from saying one face, to zero faces, but I just made a very slight adjustment and made sure I was holding steady and it only took about 4 or 5 attempts to get the 3 pictures necessary. Now it knows who I am.
