Mary,
I have the braillient bi 40, and I can pair it with several devices at once.  I 
have it paired with my desk top mac and my i phone.  As long as I turn off 
bluetooth on one of them, I can then use the display with the other.  
sometimes, it can be finicky to get the display to pair again with the phone 
after I’ve not used it for a while, but I am putting that down to probably 
something I am not doing properly as I haven’t used it with the phone that much 
and am still learning all the tricks, etc.
