Here is the list of countries in which Seeing AI is available, taken from the app description: Available in the U.S., Canada, India, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Singapore. I do not think the app isn't available in the UK because of the product bar code feature as I doubt very much those other countries have the same products as the US. In fact, it is an odd assortment of countries.
I would suggest those who live in an excluded country write [email protected] and inquire as to their reasoning. I did a little web search and while there were rumors Kroger wanted to buy Win-Dixie, I don't think it happened. Win-Dixie is owned by Southeast grocery. There is a list of what Kroger owns on another sight, and neither Win-Dixie or Southeast grocery are on that list. I think the reality is, that unless it is a national brand, it probably isn't in the bar code database. There are a lot of those smaller chains not in the ID Mate database as well. The one thing I will say for Digit-Eyes and ID Mate, is you can add a description. I wrote seeing AI and requested that feature. I hope others do as well.
