Well, you can spend most of your time chasing down passwords and account info
if you aren't using a password manager to track that stuff. Tonido makes it
very easy using the instructions I posted to simply set up a new account and
start again. The website will let you know if you're picking a user name
already in use. Also, you might need to uninstall the version of Tonido running
on your computer and reinstall it in order to set up another account. I just
did this on my Windows XP computer and it worked well.

Her problem is that she had previously created an account, but has forgotten
her information to log in. I believe she was wanting to know from her message a
while back how she would go about retrieving her log in information, so she can
access Tonido once again.

Subject: Tonido App Tutorial was RE: TONIDO APP

Hello Carol P. and List,

I've gotten the latest version of the Tonido iOS app (version 7.3) to work well
with my iPhone 7 running iOS 10.3.3 and my computer running Windows 7. I
thought I'd post a tutorial of what I did to get the app working and accessing
the files on my computer.

To those who don't know, Tonido Software is Personal Cloud software, which
simply means that it allows access to all your files in your computer or device
on which it is running. You can then use the Tonido iOS app to access the files
on your computer from your iDevice even when you are traveling provided you've
left that computer running. The overview of how Tonido works is explained on
its Getting Started page which is found here:

http://www.tonido.com/support/display/docs/Understanding+How+Tonido+Works

The main points from that page are:

1. You install the Tonido Desktop software on the main computer that has
all the files, media that you want to access
2. You then create an account to access that computer. Say you create an
account called "jane_homepc", then the URL to access your computer becomes
"http://jane_homepc.tonidoID.com";
3. You can access this computer from anywhere (as long as the computer is
switched on) via a web browser by typing the URL
"http://jane_homepc.tonidoID.com";
4. You can access this computer from a mobile phone running Android,
iPhone, iPad, iPod, Blackberry, Windows Phone by installing the "Tonido" app
from the mobile app store or marketplace.
5. You can sync files from other computers to the main computer by
installing the Tonido Sync2 client. This will synchronize the contents of one
folder in all your computers where you have installed the Tonido Sync2 client.
6. All the above features are completely free.

I followed the above steps and have access to all the files on my Windows 7
computer using the Tonido app. You can download the appropriate computer server
software for your operating system from the Tonido downloads page here:

http://www.tonido.com/tonidodesktop_downloads/

For my windows 7 computer, I clicked on the Server link from the downloads page
and then clicked on the Tonido for Windows link to download the TonidoLite.zip
file. After extracting the files in the zip archive to their own folder, I
executed the tonido.exe file within that folder to set up my Tonido account.
You must provide an account user name, password, and email address. The user
name is important because it becomes part of the URL used to access your
account and computer files with the mobile app. For example, if your user name
is janedoe, the URL to access your files on your mobile device will be
http://janedoe.tonidoid.com. When creating my account, I accepted all the
defaults but you'll need to do as you like. Tonido Support will send you and
email after creating your account with the URL used to access your account
files. Here's how I set it up on the app:

1. I launched the Tonido version 7.3 app.

2. I executed the add button which I believe was in the upper left corner of
the main screen.

3. The screen which opens contains several text boxes including a URL one
already containing http:// and you type in your user name followed by a period
followed by tonidoid followed by .com. See my above paragraph for the URL
example and remember, it will also be provided in the support email.

4. You will also type in your user name and password in the appropriate boxes
and execute the okay button to connect.

5. I had no problem connecting and could then see all the drives on my
computer as well as categorized file items such as music files, documents, and
videos.

I don't travel often but Tonido will be a great resource for accessing my files
when I'm away. I tested it by playing a couple of music tracks from my computer
and they sounded great.

Good luck and post back with any questions.

Subject: TONIDO APP

Hi all,

Mods, I really do hope you don't mind this quick request as I'm desperate to
get back into the app and can't find any way to get a response from the Company.

I won't ask again after this time - PROMISE!

Carol P - UK

Forgive this question. I did send about a month ago but got no replies, but I
know others on this list were using Tonido.

If anyone uses this app and it's still working well for you and you can help me
at all and would do this one-to-one, please let me know off list at

Thanks!

Carol P
