In Lyft, after your trip has been accepted, swipe through the screen
and look for the contact button. Once you choose this, you can pick
how you want to contact the driver. In my experience, I always contact
the driver of whatever service ahead of time. A lot of times I will
get an automated response that the driver is unable to respond because
they are driving, but I also then get a personal response from them
later acknowledging my message. I prefer Lyft for the ease of use, but
Uber is easier to schedule a ride ahead of time. Also, in Austin TX.,
it seems like Lyft does not go through surge pricing as often as Uber.
Finally, I frequently get discounts on both services, but Lyft often
gives me a $5 discount. Going home, that takes my trip cost from about
$7 to $2, or less. Awesome!

Here in St. Louis, we have both services, and both work equally well.
Many drivers work for both companies, this is not considered a conflict
of interest since the drivers are really contractors for each company.
Both apps are accessible. Both apps allow you to call or text the
driver if necessary. One thing I would suggest, enter the place where
you want to be picked up, don't rely on the location provided by the
phone's GPS, it's usually not accurate enough. Both apps will give you
a price estimation before booking the trip. One thing is for sure, both
services are much better than the cab companies around here. With a
cab, you call them and it's pretty much, we'll be there when we get
there, might be 5 minutes or it could be an hour. With Uber and Lyft,
you know how far the closest driver is and neither one has ever taken
longer than 10 minutes, usually shorter.

Hey guys,
OK, i wanted some input here on a few things with uber and lift? What
1 do you guys like better? It seems like almost 6 of 1, half dozen of
the other if you know what i mean. Both apps seem to be accessible.
Also, when you are in a place, how do you usually explain to the
driver how to find you since you can't see them coming, like if i'm at
the gym or something and need them to pick me u, how would i know it's
their car outside. Also if anyone has used both, does 1 usually have
a better price than the other?
