when you choose letters you then double tapp them and the guess button will

Still can not find the guess button. This is what I have.
As I swipe I have the word clues then solutions, then I have the 7 clues.
After the 7 clues I have 2 buttons, clear and shuffle.
Then I have the letter choices. And at the very bottom I have a get a hint
button.
No matter what I do none of this changes, I have never had a guess button.
So I would assume that since the guess button has never appeared, for some
reason it is not accepting the letters I double tap.
Now as I swipe through my letter choices they all are dimmed. What I mean
is, for example, for the letters, p o, it says, p o dimmed.
I am thinking this might be the problem. Is the dimmed part suppose to be
there, or is there something I am not doing?
I have looked in settings and everywhere but still can not get this game to
work for me. Any help or instructions would be greatly appreciated.

For some reason, I can not enter my answer, and I do not get a guess

I double tap on the first clue, vegetable often mashed.
I then go and double tap on, p o, then t a, then t o. And nothing happens
or nothing changes.
Any help in how to enter answers would be appreciated!
