That's interesting Mary,
In AppleVis's blog post they were saying if one is closing apps from the
app switcher that the device would re spring the home screen and VO
would crash and restart.
I have experienced this behavior on my iPhone 7.
Haven't updated my iPad pro yet.
So in short I'm not sure if it's by design or a bug as pointed out by
the blog post.
