Mark, What happens with an iPhone 8 when you hold down the wake/lock key and the volume down button simultaneously? Is the key sequence mentioned in the article a replacement of that combination or an alternative to it? If the former, why did they need to change it?

First of all, the article states that the old reboot key combination of holding down the wake/lock key with the volume down button will launch the emergency SOS feature on the iPhone 8/8 Plus. I thought pressing the wake/lock also called the power button five times quickly launched the emergency SOS service. That's what all the iOS 11 information I've been reading states and I assume the iPhone 8 comes with iOS 11. The article also distinguishes that what is being discussed is a button sequence as opposed to a button combination as has always been the case. Are they saying that this button sequence is an alternative and that the button combination also still works? As I said up front, this article raises more questions than anything. And if they really have changed the reboot button combination to a reboot button sequence, they ought to be throttled.
