I hope you'll bear with these questions, as I can't seem to figure out some logical answers. I know I've tried posting some of these before, but I don't know if they were even seen or anything due to all of the questions dealing with the new IOS 11 stuff. I've not even gone there yet. I'm trying to update my contacts on my iPhone. I also recently got the WhatsApp app as well and am trying to see how or if they sync together. For some of my contacts, when I look at their info in the iPhone contacts area, it will say something like "WhatsApp video." Others won't say anything, yet I know they're on WhatsApp when I look at the actual WhatsApp app. In the actual WhatsApp app, if I try to message someone and look at the contacts I can message, I'll get messages letting me know they're available or are using the app. The ones that say "WhatsApp Video" on my iPhone contacts list don't always show up in this other app. Does this mean that I can't just instant message or call the video contacts using WhatsApp? For example, I know of one particular person who is on WhatsApp, but I can't message him and yet, he's one of the ones that has the "WhatsApp Video" message in my iPhone contacts. What does "WhatsApp video" mean as opposed to something else? Have I totally confused you yet? :-) Also, why do some of my contacts actually tell me that their mobile phone is an iPhone and others don't? I can understand if they don't have iPhones, but some of these folks actually do. Finally, I am still at a loss as to why I can't update some of the contact information using the Facebook feature. I'm still going to iPhone settings, going to the Facebook app, and double tapping on "Update all contacts". I get the message that progress is at 0 percent and then that 0 contacts have been updated. I can tell that no activity was going on. In fact, if I decide to allow the iPhone contacts app to use the Facebook account, meaning that I turn Contacts on, not too much happens. I know, for a fact, that not all of my Facebook contacts show up. Very strange issues trying to update and sync with my iPhone 7. Anyone have any good answers for me?
