To my knowledge the $19.95 price for the Google version of the KNFB reader was available because of a donation from Google. As far as I know the product isn’t free but does allow the user to have 25 free scans before purchasing the product. The reason this doesn’t happen with Apple is because of Apple policies and isn’t under control of the NFB.
